Installation and Programming of a Detection and Surveillance System
International Metal Supply (IMS), formerly known as EPUR METAL, is a France-based company specializing in the purchase and sale of non-industrial and recycled metals since 1969.
IMS provides reliable and professional service to international clients, offering high-quality metals for industrial use. Despite being located in France, IMS operates globally, ensuring efficient and personalized management in the trade of metals and raw materials.
IMS required a highly efficient, flexible, and scalable surveillance and detection system that met their specific needs and complied with legal regulations. Turnkey systems offered by specialized companies were too rigid, costly, and lacked customization. Basic systems did not meet their requirements and were incompatible with their tools for integration within their workflows.
Our task was to design and implement a detection environment that was not only economical but also scalable and compatible with hardware from different manufacturers.

Our Solution
The first step was to design a plan for implementing the Axis camera network, taking into account legal obligations regarding privacy and security. We ensured that camera placement complied with regional regulations while maximizing surveillance coverage.
We used NAS Synology tools with the Surveillance Station environment to manage security cameras, ensuring secure and accessible recording storage.
We created a custom intrusion detection environment using high-quality cameras connected to the NAS system. The system has been specifically trained to detect intrusions, reducing the likelihood of errors or false positives. The flexibility of this customized system also allows additional sensors, such as door sensors or microphones, to be added to further enhance security and expand the environment as needed.
In addition to intrusion detection, a material detection system was implemented. This automated environment ensures that any movement of critical materials is monitored in real-time, such as material entry or exit. This provides more effective monitoring and a faster response to potential incidents.
